The unique pass-through
check-in desks we designed provide paired check-in facilities to
meet the unique mix of domestic and off-shore traffic at Sumburgh.
Designed for flexibility of use, they also reflect the need to keep
maintenance to a minimum at this remote station, without in any way
compromising the need for high security control on all passenger baggage.
Passengers check-in, then
take the checked-in bags to the scanning machines at security. All
off-shore bags are hand searched with 100% screening on all other
passengers in their presence. The illustration shows the design as
installed.
